The Round Timer was the first round/sparring/boxing timer available in the AppStore and, as a result, the most refined and stable. Dont be fooled by knock-offs (other developers copying our interface and layout).
The Round Timer is a convenient round/boxing/sparring timer for your iPhone/iPod touch, now compatible with iOS 8. The Round Timer is a fully functional round/sparring timer that allows you to customize the length of the rounds, warning bell and resting period. Each of these intervals can be configured separately up to an hour. It will run in the background even if you switch to another App.
With the sound themes, you can choose which alarm sounds to use: boxing/MMA, a relaxing Zen theme, and a few others. Dont like any of the dozens of preinstalled sounds? Dont worry! You can record your own sounds.
For large, loud environments you can plug your device into a stereo, or for small sessions put it in the corner of the mat. The Round Timer is great for any sparring or interval training: boxing, MMA, grappling / bjj, martial arts, yoga, meditation, crossfit, exercise, workout, stretching, etc.
Working out to music is not a problem. Start your music playing in the iPod app, then start RoundTimer. The sounds will play over top of your music without interrupting it.

Round Timer app good for
A much needed app in need of some improvements, but definitely worth the price as it is. The timer seems to stop once the auto lock is activated, so well see if there is a fix for that. Some different sounds were just added which was my number one gripe, so many thanks to the developer. This is a great app for workouts, stretches, etc. Id love to see a variable round times option where you can set a bunch of different times for each round/rest period etc. For example: 1st round 2:00, 2nd round 4:00, 3rd 5:00 etc etc, then just loop back to the first round once it done one pass through. Either way, if you workout at all, I recommend buying this app.
Great app. Every one who trains with an iPod needs one. PLEASE fade music in an out around the round bells. Tough to hear while music plays. Thanks!
Really like the app. It is easy to use and works well for doing interval training. I tried a couple of others and this is the best one so far.
I would suggest fading music when bell goes and allowing us to enter how many rounds we want.
I have been waiting for everlast Round Timer but then I couldnt listen to my iPod. Then I found this. Works great I can play music when hitting heavybag and get my cues for the end of the round. Awesome.
Just updated the app. It didnt work at first so I uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
Good app Ill give it 5 stars when it fades out the music. Its hard to hear it while music is playing so update it please. Updated and its perfect now.
Some bad moments
Now, I know its only one dollar, but Im pretty upset. I purchased this app several months ago and have been using it every day with my clients. Its great, basic, and simple to use. If you are a trainer, this is the perfect app for you, UNLESS you dont have an iPhone. Apparently the most current version isnt compatable with the iPod. I Synced my iPod last night and lost the app (along with facebook and several others) because I cant use it unless I have an iPhone. Being a Bell customer, I dont have that option. Im sorry, thats Bull S____. I paid for the thing, I love it, and now I cant use it. Not Cool!
Good program,met all my needs. My negative comment is the app will not allow you to use it after you agree to update!!! The program locks you out..You cant u s e it!
This timer is very versatile for MMA, Boxing and even works great for crossfit workouts. It is easy to use and can usually be heard over music playing on the ipod part of your iphone. For the price it is well worth it.
If the "sticks" sound were louder this app would be perfect.

What a great app!!
This app is absolutely perfect!!! I cant believe i paid so very little for it. Ive been involved in fighting sports for 20 years and during that time i have spent a ton of money trying to find a timer like this one. Perfect for any type of interval training. Ive used it for bag work, shadow boxing, forms, low weight high rep weight lifting and road bike work. The updates now allow for any sound bit to be used. If you want "mic" from rocky to tell you that are going to have "greasy fast italian speed!" at the beginning of each round... No problem.
Buy this app now, then do what i did... Gather up all your old Round Timers and list them on ebay.
Excellent app for anyone that wants to do interval training. Highly recommend this one.
